Description
Discovery Palawan was built in 1972 in Groningen, Holland as a three-masted schooner that cruised the Caribbean. She was later rebuilt as a navigation training ship then refitted in 2006 with a new and more powerful engine with all modern navigational equipment. She was moved to the Philippines to serve as an adventure cruise ship. In 2013, she was renamed Discovery Palawan and underwent a USD 1.5 million renovation for a fresh, modern look.
Come aboard and let Discovery Fleet take you to 2 of the world"s most exciting diving destination, the Philippines.
Our 2 ships, the Discovery Adventure & Discovery Palawan travel to Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park from late March to mid June.
The Discovery Palawan remains in the Philippines and guests can explore the lush reefs and encounter mega fauna such as thresher sharks, mantas and whale sharks on our Cebu - Malapascua - Visayas voyages from October to December.
Apo Reef and Coron are the destinations of choice from January to March. Apo Reef is the world"s second biggest contiguous coral reef in the world while Coron is famous for the the karst limestone cliffs and the numerous Japanese wrecks from WWII.
Both the Cebu - Malapascua - Visayas and the Apo Reef - Coron routes are also open to non-divers with a full day program with beach and island visits, snorkeling and kayaking on the agenda.
Discovery Fleet Corporation operate these 2 ships as well as Club Paradise Divers, the in house dive center at the private island resort of Club Paradise Resort in Coron, Palawan.
