Expedition vessel The Duyung Baru is an original handcrafted Indonesian Phinisi sailing boat. Our vessel measures 27 meters and features two upright masts. This luxury liveaboard was specifically designed by Vovo (the owner) to create a comfortable and relaxed living environment reminiscent of your home while aboard our luxury scuba diving vessel.
Our cabins were designed with one thing in mind: Comfort. The interior theme of the boat is of hand sanded quality teak wood which is incorporated into all 3 of our luxurious cabins as well as our dining saloon. Our two private double cabins each contain queen sized high quality mattresses ensuring that you have the best possible sleep during your stay. The twin share cabins contain two king single beds of the same quality. Each air conditioned cabin contains an ensuite featuring an extremely clean shower and private toilet for our guests.
So we thought to our self, what compliments a luxury liveaboard better than anything else? The Cuisine! The heart of the Duyung Baru truly lies in Yani"s kitchen. Our Luxury liveaboard contains 2 gas cookers, a stove, an oven and even an outdoor BBQ. Yani and her crew delight in preparing and sharing fresh breakfasts, lunches and dinners for the Duyung Baru"s guests every day. We also have 3 refrigerators where cold drinks and refreshments are on offer all day.
The top deck of the Duyung Baru also features 4 comfortable adjustable sun loungers for anyone looking to warm up, relax or simply work on their tan.
Rather than packing the boat with as many divers as possible, we run our charters with only 4-6 guests at a time. This ensures that we share a much more intimate, enjoyable and personalised trip with our guests.
Dive center
Our luxury liveaboard is specially designed for scuba diving.
We have 2 BAUER compressors, 30 tanks (12 and 15 Litres) as well as 6 set Scubapro BCDS and regulators.
With a powerful engine the Duyung Baru is capable of cruising at 10 knots allowing us to travel between each of our private (and often secluded) moorings efficiently.
From our moorings we then take our aluminium long boat containing two Yamaha twin 40HP engines to reach the dive sites. This allows us to reach even the furthest dive sites within 15 minutes.
After returning from our dives and we are back aboard our luxury liveaboard. Our crew will always change and refill your tanks for you.
There is plenty of space on the deck for you to wash and rinse your equipment.
On our boat we take only experienced Divers with a minimum of 75 Dives. The reason for that is Komodo have a lot of current.
Thanks to our small groups we are able to run custom itineraries. Every evening we deciding together with the guests, on where we want to dive the next day. Depending on weather conditions and also taking into account what our divers are excited to see.
Besides that we installed a silent compressor and generator. Therefore you are able to adequately rest during your surface intervals. We understand that peace and quiet is important.

Our two private double cabins each contain Queen sized high quality mattresses ensuring you have the best sleep possible.

Each air conditioned cabin contains an ensuite featuring an extremely clean shower and private toilet for our guests. Our cabins are maintained and cleaned each morning when guests are out on their first dive of the day.

Two double cabins: Ideal for couples or friends to share a room. The cabin contains a queen sized bed, a desk (popular with photographers) an en-suite bathroom, two windows, private air conditioning, and a safety deposit box.
The single-share-cabin is ideal for individuals, the cabin is made up of two comfortable wide single beds, a desk, an en-suite bathroom, two windows, individual air conditioning, and a safety deposit box.
