Description
The M/Y Longimanus was especially designed and built in 2003 for highly challenging dive safaris. On board the 36m long wooden yacht you will find the latest in diving and safety equipment, with which we set new s tandards for dive cruise. Two powerful engines bring you to the most remote dive sites in no time at all. Width and layout allow a smooth and comfortable trip even in rough waters. The deck as well as the furniture are teak.
The Longimanus Crew along side captain Ahmed are at least 10 and is among the best crews in the Red Sea. Languages on board are English and Arabic. Our guides are happy to help with possible language difficulties and are always there for you in case you have any questions.
The fully air conditioned salon, equipped with the most modern entertainment system such as DVD player, 60 inch Plasma TV and a Dolby Surround System invites you to enjoy the good atmosphere. The crew serves cold drinks at the bar. Our boat, the kitchen crews’ service, and the freshly prepared meals do not have to fear being compared to a luxury hotel.
The diving deck with 2 fresh water showers has enough space for your equipment. We have plenty of lockers on deck for you which have power plugs where you can charge your camera or diving torches.
On the sundecks you can find a place to rest, relax and recover; after sunset you can admire the beautiful starry sky while you reminisce about the past day over a shisha.
Since Longimanus is working it already was 6 times winner of the german divemagazines “Tauchen” yearly Award as the best Liveaboard. Another 5 years we managed to be at least one of the 3 best liveaboards. For this we like to thank our guests for their trust and we will do our best to keep our high standards!
Dive center
Per day we offer 2-4 dives.
After a detailed briefing from the guide you and your buddy can plan and execute your dives.
In order that no one has to wait for their dives we cover large distances over night where possible.
Drift dives and dives where Longimanus can not moor up will be carried out from the inflatable boat.
The tour is for experienced divers, because we expect you to dive in your buddy team after a thorough briefing from the guide. If you like of course you can join a guide.
Mandatory equipment is a dive computer, smb and an alternate air source.
Maximum diving depth is 40m; decompression dives are not allowed.
You should carry enough spare parts for your equipment; it can be difficult to organize spare parts during the safari.
Rental equipment and dive education is possible, please let us know ahead so we can confirm prices and equipment.
We offer a different variaty of courses on board including Nitrox, Advanced Open Water Diver, Solo Diver and a lot of specialties. Also we can do technical courses like Andvanced Nitrox or Decompression procedures. Just let us know if you want do a course before your arrival that we can arrange everything for you. If you need more information about any course just send us an email and we will answer all your questions with pleasure.
You don´t have your equipment complete? No problem, we have everything what you need! Please let us know what you need and which sizes at least one week before and we will make sure that everything will be for you on the boat!
Diving with Nitrox is possible with additional charge.
Store your luggage. You are planning your next dives here as well? Due to high costs of taking dive equipment with the plane we offer to store your equipment in our Dive center in Safaga.

The Longimanus has 8 spacious double cabins on the lower deck and 2 suites with queen size beds on the upper deck. Every cabin is equipped with a shower / toilet, towels and bath robes, music channel, mini bar and individually regulated air condition.
