Description
Pico Sport extends liveaboard fleet. Our new liveaboard Olim completes the ProWin pro nature fleet and is a VZ 45 with 2 x 430 hp Catarpillar engines. It has a master cabin with private shower and toilet, and 2 twin cabins that share a bathroom. For max 6 divers the Olim is doing the same route as the Narobla. It is equipped with a diving ladder and dive rack, 1 Coltri dive compressor 14 aloy tanks 12l and rescue equipment.
The boat is open for bookigs for everybody from now on for the same rates as Narobla..... Its perfect for Micro groups.
Keep in mind that this type of boats can not be compared with huge dive liveabords like in Egypt or Galapagos because the Azores have a 3 month season only. But its an excellent chance to sleep at Princess Alice Bank and do 6 or even more dive out there...... and of course we dive the famous lue shark spots like Banco Condor.
The boat is still in the shipyard in Algarve and waits for transport to Pco Island.
OUR HISTORY
Pico Sport has been working at the island of Pico since 1993 to bring humans closer to the ocean. Frank, the founder of the company, invented the first dolphin school for children in the nineties. Together with Dr. Erich K. Ritter he discovered the nursery of hammerhead sharks at the Azores as well as diving grounds to dive with blue sharks. Regularly there take place workshops with researchers and biologists. TV-teams and photographers from all over the world work together with Frank, for example the 3D-film team of Michele Cousteau and the Discovery Channel. Most recently, the Pico Sport Team was instrumental in the production of BBC Blue Planet 2.

Conditions for participation
Most of the dives are advanced dives. Therefore, all participants should have an AOWD certification, or more than 50 logged dives as well as a nightdive special.
Nitrox can be booked against production of a nitrox brevet and for a supplement of 150 €.
Diving at Princess Alice Bank may mean diving in extreme currents. Therefore, the crew decides on spot from dive to dive, whether divers should remain at the current line or can dive freely. The decisions are made very carefully and must be followed by every participant because it is almost not possible to find drifted divers again.
We are, however, equipped with the emergency and rescue system Nautillus Lifeline, which each diver can use for free.
